The Key to Happiness
The secret to happiness is not to get what you want, but to want what you already have. If you think about it, most discontent grows from want. We want more stuff, more excitement, more pleasure. When we don't get those things, we're resentful and unsatisfied. Take away the want, and you take away the unhappiness. When your quality of life is tied to your desires, fulfillment is a shadow that escapes your view. Like trying to imagine a new color, the harder you look, the harder it is to see. Does this mean you stop setting goals and striving for a healthy lifestyle and better life? No. It means you can appreciate life regardless of the outcome. It means you can relish the pursuit while accepting the possibility of failure. It means you can still enjoy the ride. Happiness is not a destination--it's a way of life.

Letting Go of the Past
One of the hardest things in life can be letting go of the past. We know we should, and we beat ourselves up inside when we don't. By not letting go of our past, we repeat an endless cycle of the problem. This prevents us from being fully present in the moment. When we are not fully present in the now, we fail to live our life to the fullest. We become a prisoner of our own mind.
1. Become aware that you are living in the past
Awareness is the first step toward leaving your past in the past. By simply being aware that you are holding on to the past, and recognizing the fact that most choices you make revolve around those experiences, you will automatically think twice and rethink your choice at that moment.
2. Realize that the past cannot be changed
The most sobering thing about the past is that it cannot be changed. Things have already happened. And seeing as there is no way to travel back in time, there is no way to change the past. At this point you must learn to accept it.
3. Focus on what you want
You have the ability to focus your thoughts on whatever you wish. Try it now. Think about tennis. Now think about your furniture. It's that easy. In order for you to hold those thoughts on any one thing you need to exercise the process. See yourself living a full life in the moment free from past hurt.

Resisting is Futile
Stop resisting your life. Whenever you are feeling uncomfortable, unhappy or any other negative emotion, you are resisting something in your life. You are saying to yourself and the universe that something is not right here and that it should be another way. Resisting is futile because it does not change the situation. Resisting emits negative energy and attracts more of the same negative situations into your life.--Sonia RicottiSince my last post, Learning to Let Go, I've learned to let go of the need to be in control. Still a work in progress, I find myself seeking to break through self imposed isolation. Some people would call me a functional introvert.
I realized that although I tend to be more reserved and less sociable, I am not a loner and enjoy co-creating. I choose to have a smaller circles of friends. This is nothing more than my social preference. Therefore, I embrace my social preference and innerstanding of my introversion.

DIY: Add Meaning to Your Life
Do you know that we create the meaning of everything we experience in life? We say, "when, where and how". I don't know about you, but I like being in control of my own destiny. I have the power to decide whether an experience is positive, negative, or neutral. And so do you!
We have the power to choose how we interpret whatever we experience in life. For example, a man lost his job. The man can choose to be sad, depressed, angry and have a pity party or he can choose to see the situation as an opportunity to do other, bigger and better things.

Live a Life of Gratitude
I reflect and meditate on all the good people and relationships I have, the fun moments we share, the beautiful places I've seen, and the abundant life I richly enjoy. By doing so, I quickly add meaning to my life.

Begin With the End in Mind
To begin with the end in mind is about seeing the end result before you take action to get you there. Being able to visualize the end game, the final result. The destination helps you to formulate plans to get you where you want to go.
Align yourself with your core values. For example, family is extremely important to me. I visualize myself with a happy marriage, being the loving and devoted wife and mother while experiencing a peaceful and joyful surrounding. Therefore, my home life comes before everything else. I work from home. I spend quality time with my husband and children. I make myself available to be the soccer mom whenever I'm needed.
By being aware of my core values and then deliberately living and creating my life around those values, I generate inner peace, freedom, happiness and a life lived with purpose.

Choose Your Thoughts & Feelings
Do you believe you can control what your feelings will be no matter what happens? Notice how some people complain and whine while others are happy and calm? Have you ever wondered why some are full of doom and gloom, while others are optimistic and content? Did you know it is choice? We all choose our thoughts, therefore we also choose our feelings.
We all have an inner saboteur. It is an inner voice that is telling you that you cannot do something, be someone, or have something. Recognize this as fear. It is normal to feel fear anytime you go outside your comfort zone. Anytime you do anything new and different, there is always some sort of inner voice telling you that you can't do it, that you aren't good enough, or that you may fail. Just recognize that the inner voice is you! The only person that is stopping you from living your greatest life is you!

Decide What You Want
Step 1: What do you really want? This is an important question to consider. In order to get what you want, you must first decide what you want. You must become clear on your vision of what your best life would look like.

How to Apply the Law of Attraction
Fundamental to your using this knowledge to transform your life is understanding that you are applying this universal law even if you don't know it. You send either positive or negative energy into the universe. Like attracts like; whatever you are sending out to the universe will be returned to you. Some call it "sowing and reaping", "karma", or "the law of reciprocity". Whatever you may call it, you are sending out energy right at this very moment.

Law of Attraction
The law of attraction is a universal law that is present at all times. Put simply, it means that which I focus on or give attention to is what I attract into my life. This universal law is an age-old principle that the world's greatest minds and teachers of the past and present have used and are currently using today.

Learning to Let Go
Learning to let go is one of life’s most difficult tasks. To let go often means giving up control and/or unrealistic expectations — allowing yourself to be imperfect, to be vulnerable and to be free.

Sacred Space
What is a sacred space? At its most basic, it is a place which invites the contemplation of divine mystery, and encourages an attitude of spiritual openness. A sacred space is not necessarily where answers are grasped or understood. Rather it is where questions are asked, conversations occur, rituals are perpetuated, dances are performed, songs are sung, and silence is heard—all in the attempt to find answers.

Self Love
Self love is the first step to living in oneness with divine energy. Learning to love yourself isn't always easy especially if you're a survivor of childhood abuse or neglect. But there are things you can do to boost your self-love.
