Self Love

Self love is the first step to living in oneness with divine energy. Learning to love yourself isn't always easy especially if you're a survivor of childhood abuse or neglect. But there are things you can do to boost your self-love.

How to Love Self?
Give yourself permission to love yourself first. This is not selfish or egotistical. See God in your own eyes. Remember that you are a child of God, of the Divine Father-Mother Source. Be grateful for who you are. Cultivate attitudes of love and gratitude and choose again and again to surrender to the Divine plan for your life.

Forgive yourself. How you feel about yourself has a lot to do with how others feel about you. When we love ourselves unconditionally we don't dwell on past events. We don't make them the focus of how we see ourselves. When we can, we correct them. We call them mistakes and learn from them so that we don't do them again.

Meditate and affirm yourself daily. To help you get to an unconditionally loving place, treat yourself to a brief meditation of self love every morning and every night. Close your eyes, take some deep breaths, get centered and relaxed. Once you are in a meditative state, feel your connection with divine energy and know that you are divine. Feel your strong love for God deep in your soul. Feel and know that you are this divine energy. Feel grateful, happy and in love with yourself. Do this everyday for at least 5 minutes when you first wake in the morning and every night before bed. Appreciate and love yourself throughout the day. Take a few breaths and think “I love me! I AM DIVINE ENERGY AND LOVE!” and feel the total acceptance and love for yourself.

Create a nurturing and fruitful environment. It is up to you to surround yourself with people who will support your journey. All growth depends on a favorable climate, nurturance, and a non-hostile environment. Just as harsh conditions can stunt the growth of a magnificent Sequoia, so the climate—the nurturance and relationships in our lives — can stunt the growth of our self-worth and self love.

Discover your divine gifts/talents.You must first tap into the source of your divine talents and gifts by embracing both feminine and masculine energy. Your feminine essence is the greatest healer, manifesting magnet, lover, and source of inner strength you have. Feminine energy is creative, delicate, intuitive, nurturing, receptive, tender, surrendering, synthesizing, integrating, soft, feeling, and the part of us that "knows" without explanation. Its roots reach deep into the heart. We are using masculine energy when we are accomplishing, getting things done, figuring things out logically, analyzing situations and problem solving.

How Will I Know When I Have Achieved Self Love?
A person rich in Self-love has many admirable qualities that they display in loving relationships. Such a person is humble and modest, unattached to those they love, seeking to liberate their loved ones rather than seeking to attach themselves to loved ones, possess them, or drain them of energy.

The person rich in Self-love seeks gratification through purification, meditation and the pursuit of the light, not through consumption.

The person rich in Self-love is not critical and judgmental, blames no one, but rather forgives. Forgives him or her self and forgives others.

The person rich in Self-love enjoys sharing with others, rather than seeking to take from others to fill the void within.

The person rich in Self-love is patient with him or herself and with loved ones rather than being overly concerned that they conform to his or her needs at each moment of time.

The person rich in Self-love does not seek the agreement of loved ones, because self-confidence and inner spiritual guidance make such agreements unnecessary.

Remember that these divine, loving qualities are the qualities of your true self. Know that as you raise your own self-worth, you will feel more integrity, honesty, compassion, love and energy. And you will be able to truly experience joy in your life.
